Students from Thorson and Grandey First-Year Honors traveled to Belize for spring break! They studied rainforest and reef ecology and the complex ways聽conservation efforts intersect with the聽tourism economy. They also got to go tubing through a cave system, snorkel the barrier reef, and give back to the local communities聽through service learning projects.聽First-Year Honors offers a travel opportunity each year, with Costa Rica tentatively planned for spring 2025.
